LEYDEN — Lewis County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people after responding to a dispute at the parking area in the median of the four-lane section of Route 12, at 10:40 p.m. Friday.

Wendy J. Jones, 46, of 3809 Franklin St., Lyons Falls, had been driving northbound on Route 12 and Burton F. Griffith, Jr., 47, of 3245 Kipp Rd, Boonville, had been following behind her, police said. Police determined that both were intoxicated at the time of operating their respective vehicles and had pulled over and became involved in the verbal domestic dispute.

Police charged Ms. Jones with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated.

Police charged Mr. Griffith with unregistered motorcycle, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and driving while intoxicated with a BAC above .08 percent.

Both were given appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Leyden Court at a later date.
