The Franklin County woman charged in connection with an apparent homicide in the town of Duane was arrested Saturday on multiple charges in connection with a reported domestic dispute in St. Lawrence County.
Melissa L. Castner, 37, of Bangor, was charged by state police with second-degree criminal mischief, a felony; second-degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor; two counts of second-degree harassment and one count of disorderly conduct, all violations; and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and throwing refuse on a highway, both Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions, in connection with a reported domestic dispute in the town of Lawrence.
Additional details of the incident were unavailable Sunday evening.
Castner had been charged two weeks ago with second-degree assault, a felony, in connection with the death of 61-year-old David Carpin of Duane.
Castner’s father, John J. Castner, 61, of Duane, reportedly confessed to killing Carpin and burying the body on his property on Old Meacham Road.
John Castner was reportedly being held in the Franklin County Jail without bail pending a court appearance.
Melissa Castner had been ordered held in lieu of $30,000 cash bail or $60,000 bond.
Her current custody status was unavailable Sunday.
