Evans Mills teenagers accused of taking quarters from car wash

WATERTOWN — City police charged two teenagers with possession of burglar tools, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny after the pair allegedly took change from the Pearl Street Car Wash.

Police said Randy J. Murphy, 17, of 26623 County Route 16, Evans Mills, and Michael J. Young Jr., 17, of 29011 County Route 30, Evans Mills, used bolt cutters and a screwdriver to damage two $16 padlocks on a coin machine, then stole $1 in quarters from the business.

The pair, charged at 600 Fassett St. at 4:40 a.m. Feb. 19, were held on $500 bail each pending an appearance in City Court.
