FISHERS LANDING — The cargo ship Pacific Huron has been refloated after running aground on the St. Lawrence River last week.

At around 8 p.m. Saturday, two Canadian tugboats removed the Pacific Huron from where it ran aground between Fishers Landing and Thousand Island Park on Wellesley Island, the U.S. Coast Guard Buffalo Sector said Sunday. The ship will anchor at Mason Point so divers can survey the hull and propulsion system for possible damages. Once cleared, the ship will continue its voyage to Montreal.

The 623-foot motor vessel ship ran aground last Wednesday while shipping soybean to Montreal. There were no injuries or pollution caused by the incident.
