TURIN — Marsella Ventura finished with five aces and six kills to lead the South Lewis volleyball team to a season-opening sweep of Belleville Henderson, 25-15, 25-15, 25-17, in a Frontier League “C/D” Division matchup on Monday night.

Alyssa Evans tallied three aces and 10 kills, and Brooklyn Sullivan added 12 service points for the Falcons, who won the division title last season.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 38, LISBON 32

Clare Snell scored 13 points, including three 3-point field goals, to power the Panthers to a Northern Athletic Conference interdivision victory over the Golden Knights in their season opener at Parishville.

Megan Converse and Jessica Mitchell added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for Parishville-Hopkinton.

McKenna Gray led Lisbon (0-2) with seven points.

ALEXANDRIA 46, LYME 35

Emma Lynch scored 14 points to lead the Purple Ghosts to a Frontier League “D” Division victory over the Indians in the season opener for both teams at Chaumont.

Tatum Perry, Lindsey Monica, and Kirsten Jensen each added eight points for Alexandria.

Francesca Gamel scored 18 points to lead all scorers for Lyme.

GIRLS HOCKEY

POTSDAM 6, ISLANDERS 2

Erica Sloan scored three goals and tallied two assists to lift the Sandstoners to a nonleague victory over the Islanders in Alexandria Bay.

Keely Towne, Maddie Dinneen, and Kennedy Emerson each added a goal for Potsdam (3-0).

The Lady Islanders fell to 0-2 overall.
