WATERTOWN — In a Monday press release, the Charles H. Bohlen Technical Center announced that its SkillsUSA students will help ring in the holiday season with Salvation Army red kettles.
A kettle will be in the foyer until Dec. 22. Juniors and senior SkillsUSA students are volunteering to ring bells during arrival and dismissal times. Students and faculty are encouraged to donate their loose change to the Salvation Army, which has provided the kettle.
Bohlen Tech SkillsUSA students are also taking part in the campaign’s “So You Think You Can Ring” community event on Dec. 9.
They will be at the Salmon Run Mall’s red kettle from 10 to 11 a.m. seeking donations, along with other businesses and community organizations.
A food drive is also being held at the Bohlen Tech Center, 20104 State Route 3, until Jan. 26.
Non-perishable food and hygiene items will be collected and put on display in the front foyer before being distributed through Feed Our Vets.
