College soccer: Smith, St. Lawrence shut out rival Clarkson

POTSDAM — Mike Smith made seven saves as the St. Lawrence University men’s soccer team beat rival Clarkson University 2-0 in a Liberty League game Tuesday night.

Tapshak Augustine scored the first goal for the Saints (3-4-2 overall, 1-0-1 conference) in the 13th minute. Ryan Crouse scored off a pass from Miguel Ridruejo in the 20th minute for the Saints.

Clarkson fell to 5-4 and 1-1.

Yasmine Boukari scored in the 84th minute to help the Skidmore College women’s soccer team to a 3-3 overtime tie with Clarkson in a Liberty League game in Potsdam.

Christina Sanzari scored in the 77th minute as Skidmore (2-5-1 overall, 0-1-1 conference) rallied from a 3-1 deficit. Skidmore also scored on an own goal.

Camryn Careccia, Madison Kather and Ashley Abel scored for the Golden Knights (4-2-3, 1-0-1).
