CLAYTON — The New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s Central Committee held its 94th annual meeting Tuesday and Wednesday here, where it made decisions on a handful of measures.

One of the more notable items was the decision to extend the length of a period in boys ice hockey, which will now be 17 minutes instead of 15.

The 2018-20 championship venues for girls swimming and diving (Ithaca College), girls gymnastics (Cold Spring Harbor High School) and boys volleyball (Albany Capital Center) were approved as well.

The committee also approved a measure aimed at adjusting the classification numbers in girls volleyball to bring each class to as close to 20 percent as possible, which will take effect next fall.

A revision to the graduated scale for combining of teams was also agreed upon. The change increases percentages for Class AA, A and B to 100 percent, while Class C will be 40 percent and Class D will be 30 percent.
