BRASHER FALLS — State police on June 8 charged three 18-year-old Massena juveniles and three 17-year-old Winthrop juveniles, each with a count of misdemeanor third-degree criminal trespassing.
Troopers charge during the overnight hours between June 7 and 8 at St. Lawrence Central School, 1039 Route 11C, the students had entered the school as part of a senior prank and dismembered and distributed a dead animal they found on the side of the road throughout the school.
School surveillance footage showed students inside the building after hours at around 12:25 a.m. on June 8, troopers said.
State police said they would not release the names of the teens due to the new Raise the Age legislation but identified the students as two 17-year-olds and one 18-year-old student of the St. Lawrence Central School. The three other students, two 18-year-olds and one 17-year-old, were identified and found to be from Massena Central High School.
Troopers said the group was involved in a similar incident on June 6 at Massena Central High School, which is under investigation by Massena Police Department.
The teens were each issued tickets returnable to Lawrence Town Court.
