Snowy start to the weekend forecast for Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Oswego counties

WATERTOWN — As much as a foot of snow is projected to fall in Jefferson, Lewis, St. Lawrence and Oswego counties tonight into Saturday, according to forecasters at the National Weather Service.

In Jefferson, Lewis and Oswego counties, forecasters said snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are possible, along with one-tenth of an inch of ice.

“Travel will be very difficult to impossible,” the service’s winter storm watch said.

In St. Lawrence County, snowfall could total 4 to 8 inches, with localized amounts up to 10 inches.
