The Canada Border Services Agency is advising those traveling across the border into Canada this weekend to be mindful of extended traffic wait times due to Victoria Day.

CBSA is anticipating increased traffic volumes at ports of entry in Eastern and Northern Ontario and is asking travelers to beat the border rush by crossing in the morning at non-peak times. Peak times are generally between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. at most locations.

Travelers should also be mindful of the construction at the Thousand Islands port of entry.

Travelers and commercial vehicles may also experience delays weekdays at the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge while the structure is being painted; traffic will be reduced to one lane.
