Local auto racing: Carter makes late move to win Evans Mills legends race

EVANS MILLS — Daniel Carter passed Josh Marchese with one lap to go to win the 20-lap legends division feature Saturday night at Evans Mills Speedway.

Carter started the race fifth, but was able reach second by the fifth lap before making his move on the last lap. Marchese, Breanne Gilligan, Brad Salatino and Frank Sibley rounded out the top five.

Dalton Lampson (truck), Mason Spencer (modified), Josh Verne Sr. (thunder stock), Amanda Defoe (sport compact) and Tyler Christman (bandolero) also won feature races.

■ Watertown’s Tim McCreadie rallied from starting near the back of the pack to place eighth in the 80-lap Silver Dollar Nationals Lucas Oil Dirt Series race Saturday night at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. McCreadie started 31st in a 33-car field. Series points leader Jonathan Davenport picked up the victory.
